On 30 July, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions with the Government of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar for the project for the new tax law enforcement by strengthening capacity for implementation of the Mongolian Tax Administration, a technical cooperation project.

JICA has supported the Mongolian Tax Authority for more than 20 years in order to achieve the modernization and capacity development of the organization. The project seeks enhancement of appropriate tax administration under the new tax law, which was enacted in 2019, based on our long-term cooperation, especially in fields of tax debt collection and audit on international taxation. In addition, it aims to promote understanding of the new tax law among citizens in Mongolia through taxpayer services. The project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 17.
