Major Projects in Mongolia

Achievement of Self-supporting Local Afforestation and Eco-learning by the People of Baganuur District

In Mongolia, there are growing concerns about spread of desertification due to deforestation and global warming. Japanese Non-Governmental Organization “East Asian Environmental Working-Together from yokohama” has challenged forestation in Baganuur District of Ulaanbaatar City from 2002. This project, started in 2008, focuses on human resource development and environmental education so that people in Baganuur can conduct forestation activities on their own in the future.
