Using Library Materials
- Anyone can read the books and periodicals displayed in the Reading Room without application.
- The closed-stack library materials are reference only for use in the Reading Room. To place a request, search the JICA Library OPAC and submit a call slip available at the reference desk to Library staff.
Loan of Materials
- Loan of materials is limited to JICA library members categorized as A and B below.

| Category B | Corporate members Firms and organizations with a prequalified certificate registered at JICA can apply for corporate membership to use Library materials for JICA studies or projects. |
- Each member may borrow up to 5 items of library materials (10 items for JICA staff) for a period of 3 weeks or up to 5 items of back issues of periodicals for a period of 1 week.
- Non-library members may make an interlibrary loan (ILL) request within Japan through public, university or research library’s interlibrary loan service.
- The audiovisual materials produced by JICA can be, as an exception, loaned to anyone up to 3 items for 1 week.
Photocopying
- Photocopying is restricted to the materials prepared and copyrighted by JICA and its use is subject to copyright law.
- All self-service copies require Library staff approval. To use the photocopy machine located at the library entrance, please fill in an “Application Form for Duplicates of Library Materials” and hand it over to Library staff.
- Photocopying fees are 10 Yen per page for black and white and 50 Yen per page for color. (B5, B4, A4 and A3 sizes are available.)
Downloading JICA Reports in PDF
More than 60 thousand study reports prepared by JICA are open to the public and can be downloaded from the JICA Library OPAC. Here is a brief note on how to get JICA reports in PDF.
- 1 . Start with a “Quick Search” in the JICA Library OPAC. Type in a phrase (like infrastructure) or a combination of terms to find JICA reports of your interest. If an “IDENT_L_1” marker is indicated in your search result list, its PDF file is available.
- 2 . Click the title you want to access, then “Book information details” comes up. Look for the “JICA Report PDF” field and click it. You can download the PDF version of JICA report to be read on your own devise!
