The President's Activities

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) selected individuals, groups and projects as recipient of “the 12th JICA President Commendation” in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the development of human resources, society and the economy of developing countries.

This year, JICA will award “The JICA President Award” (*1) to 8 projects and 5 individuals, and “The JICA Recognition Award”(*2) to 13 individuals and 5 groups. The list of recipients is attached.

President of JICA, Shinichi Kitaoka will present the certificate of the Commendation and the tribute to the recipients. On Thursday, October 13, 2016, JICA will invite the recipients living in Japan and hold a ceremony for the Commendation at the International Conference Hall in JICA Ichigaya Building.

(*1) The JICA President Award is awarded to projects, experts or volunteers to honor its outstanding contribution to the development of human resources, society and economy of developing countries through JICA’s activities.

(*2) The JICA Recognition Award is awarded to individuals or groups to express JICA’s gratitude for the cooperation and/or long-standing contribution to JICA/ JICA’s activities.
