JICA President Kitaoka Holds Talks With Zambian President Lungu

JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka held talks with Zambian President Edgar Lungu in Tokyo on Dec. 18. It was the second conversation between Mr. Kitaoka and Mr. Lungu, coming after the first in August 2018 in Lusaka.

At the beginning of the talks, Mr. Kitaoka mentioned that Zambia is playing an important role in the regional stability of southern Africa. Mr. Lungu then thanked Mr. Kitaoka for JICA's cooperation in the country. They discussed the content of JICA's cooperation in such areas as industrial development based on Zambia's potential.

TICAD 7 will be held in Japan at the end of August 2019, and discussion of initiatives for sustainable growth in Africa is planned. JICA will continue contributing to the economic development of Zambia and a strong relationship between the two countries.
