JICA President Akihiko Tanaka visited Republic of Korea from Aug. 26 to 27. There he held discussions with the presidents of the Export-Import Bank of Korea and of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), reviewed with them past cooperation and discussed the possibilities for future collaboration.

KOICA President Kim Young-mok had visited JICA in September 2013 after being inaugurated as president and held discussions with Tanaka and JICA Senior Vice-President Hideaki Domichi.

First, in Tanaka's talks with the president of the Export-Import Bank of Korea Lee Duk-Hoon, they reviewed past cooperation between JICA and the Economic Development Cooperation Fund* and discussed, among other things, the possibility of a trilateral joint seminar with the Inter-American Development Bank at its annual general meeting to be held in Busan in 2015.

And in Tanaka's discussions with Kim, they reviewed the two agencies' past cooperation and exchanged views on the possibilities for cooperation in agricultural development in Southeast Asia and in volunteer programs.
