The theme of the 2024 Africa Food System Forum was “Innovate,. Accelerate and Scale: Delivering food systems transformation in a digital and climate era.” This year’s forum underscored the importance of unlocking and harnessing the creative potential of Africa’s youth and women to accelerate the continent’s economic growth.
The event took place at the Kigali Convention Center in Rwanda’s capital city, bringing together participants in a dynamic setting that featured a wide range of seminars and panel discussions across multiple conference rooms. The exhibition area showcased displays from development agencies, foundations, and donor-funded projects.
At the AFICAT booth, over 20 Japanese companies presented their products and technologies. Ebara Corporation also had a dedicated display featuring their solutions. With growing interest in irrigation technologies, a demonstration unit drew significant crowds. The booth attracted visitors not only from Rwanda, but also from across the continent—including Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, and South Africa. More than 250 individuals registered their names at the booth, highlighting strong engagement from across Africa.
