[Kenya] Participated in the IEK International Convention (October 29–November 1, 2024)

From Tuesday, October 29, to Friday, November 1, 2024, AFICAT hosted a booth at the 31st International Convention of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), held in Mombasa, Kenya. A total of 20 Japanese companies provided product samples and promotional materials for display at the booth. On behalf of these companies, the AFICAT Survey Team and AFICAT Committee members presented the products to visitors. Over the four-day event, the AFICAT booth recorded 154 sign-ins, with the actual number of visitors likely exceeding this figure, as not all attendees signed the guestbook.
Some companies sent representatives to the venue to promote their products directly at the AFICAT booth. For example, staff from the local distributor of SPEC Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and seller of soil hardening agents, enthusiastically explained their products using samples they had brought. Similarly, Ebara Corporation dispatched three employees from its local subsidiary, who demonstrated their showcased pumps on-site. The live demonstrations drew considerable attention from visitors.
AFICAT will continue participating in exhibitions in Kenya to enhance awareness of Japanese companies' agricultural technologies and products among Kenyan agricultural stakeholders. We look forward to seeing you in Kenya at the next exhibition.
SPEC Co., Ltd. also presented the results of collaborative research on product testing conducted with a local university. The IEK Convention attracted many university members, who showed great interest in the research findings.
Ebara Corporation showcased an extensive product lineup and impressed visitors with live water pump demonstrations performed by their local staff, further boosting interest in their products.
