[Nigeria] Participation in Odua International Trade Fair (21-24, October 2024)
2025.06.12
AFICAT supports visits to exhibitions related to agricultural technology as part of its efforts to strengthen the capacity of Focal Persons (FPs) who make up the AFICAT Committee/AFICAT Secretariat in each country. In Nigeria, events related to agriculture are held at the state and regional level, and FPs from the AFICAT Nigeria Committee participated in the Odua International Trade Fair. The fair was launched in 2006 in Ibadan (capital of Oyo State), the heart of Nigeria's southwestern region, and this was the sixth time it was held. The main themes of this fair were climate change adaptation, smart agriculture, and mineral resources.
The event was attended by companies from the Odua region as well as associations of Chamber of Commerce from the six states that make up this region. FPs familiar with the current state of agricultural mechanization in Nigeria commented that there was not much new equipment, but among them, the cassava flash dryer attracted attention as a processing machine with high potential.
As for AFICAT, the Focal Persons not only visited the fair but also participated in the events held, displaying AFICAT banners as well as actively speaking at the talk events.
