CIKD was established in March 2017 under the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council and aims to share China’s development experiences and knowledge with research institutions in other countries. Since the establishment of the CIKD, the JICA Ogata Research Institute has engaged with it to share views and experiences on the management of development think tanks.

This meeting was held to further deepen the interaction between the two institutions. Presentations were made by Executive Director Mine Yoichi, Director General Miyahara Chie, and Senior Research Advisor Takahara Akio from the JICA Ogata Research Institute, and Executive Vice President Wang Jinzhao and Vice President Zhou Taidong from CIKD. In particular, the two organizations introduced their respective flagship reports, the JICA Ogata Research Institute’s "Human Security Today" and the CIKD’s "Global Development Report."

They exchanged views on their research activities and common agendas relating to human security and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With their common mission to serve as bridges between theory and practice in development cooperation, the JICA Ogata Research Institute and the CIKD will continue to interact and share their experiences with each other.
