Information Disclosure under JICA Guidelines for Environment and Social Considerations (April, 2010) and the Guidelines revised thereafter

Central Asia and the Caucasus

Category A:likely to have significant adverse impacts on the environment and society.
Category B:potential adverse impacts on the environment and society are less adverse than those of Category A projects.
Category C:like to have minimal or little adverse impact on the environment and society.
Category FI:JICA's funding of projects is provided to a financial intermediary or executing agency; the selection and appraisal of the sub-projects is substantially undertaken by such an institution only after JICA's approval of the funding, so that the sub-projects cannot be specified prior to JICA's approval of funding (or project appraisal); and those sub-projects are expected to have a potential impact on the environment.
