JICA formulated "Safety Policy for Construction Works in Japanese ODA Projects" in order to promote safety and protecting human life in construction works.
JICA formulated "The Guidance for the Management of Safety for Construction Works in Japanese ODA Projects" which compiles basic principles and technical measures on the management of safety for construction works in order to prevent and reduce occupational accidents on ODA construction works. The Guidance mainly applies to works for public and other facilities to be constructed with Technical Cooperation and Grant Aid which JICA implements.
JICA also provides reference materials for construction works in Japanese ODA projects, and these materials are expected to be utilized at construction works.
JSSS is issued as a standard model of the safety specification to specify and define the particular operational health and safety requirements in the Contract. It is designed to be used in the Bidding and Contract Documents for ODA Loan Projects.
JSSS guide is issued for the information and assistance of Executing Agencies and (where applicable) their consultants for use in the preparation of Bidding and Contract Documents for ODA Loan Projects where such agencies have agreed with JICA that JSSS shall be adopted.
Please refer the page below regarding the Standard Bidding Documents applying JICA Safety Standard Specification.
JICA prepared this presentation material for borrowers, executing agencies, consultants, and contractors of ODA loan projects with one goal in mind. That is, raise awareness of work safety by deepening understanding of the basic safety compliance requirements in the JICA Standard Safety Specification (JSSS), while using accident cases as learning material.
