Viet Nam

PhotoHanoi

Since the Doi Moi (renovation) policy was adopted in 1986, Viet Nam has continued to demonstrate economic growth through implementing economic reforms, and opening up relations with other countries. While the Asian economic crisis, which began in 1997, had an impact on slowing down the pace of economic growth, the Company Act, which was enacted in 2000, has accelerated the establishment of private-sector companies, and contributed to the recovery of the economy. Since then, the country has continued to achieve a high rate of GDP growth. Given the country's membership of the WTO and reduction in AFTA customs duties, the training of public and private sector employees with a more global perspective and greater competitive abilities is an urgent issue for Viet Nam to solve.

At the Vietnam-Japan Institute for Human Resources Development (Incorporated in 2017 and renamed from Vietnam-Japan Centers to Institute) in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, short-term, practical business courses have been implemented targeting management and administrative workers. A management school known as "Keieijuku" is also under way, which aims to train human resources who will be able to lead Vietnam's industrial sector in the future. Against the background of enthusiastic entry into Viet Nam by Japanese companies, the Centers are also engaged in Japanese language education, the promotion of mutual understanding of both countries' cultures and society, and projects that contribute to the expansion of networks among Japanese economic organizations, educational institutions and regional governing bodies, among others.
