With the publication of "SDGs and Japan: Human Security Indicators for Leaving No One Behind" (English edition) in November 2020, JICA Ogata Research Institute will hold the JICA Ogata Research Institute Knowledge Forum to re-examine the significance and challenges of the concept of human security and its operationalization. ![]() Although there has been remarkable achievements in “freedom from fear and want” such as improvement of poverty rate and infant mortality through the efforts for the MDGs adopted in 2000, the world still faces a variety of challenges, including newly emerging issues, with less than 10 years left to deliver the SDGs.
