Deployment of National Volunteer by JICA/Burkina Faso Second Phase

After a pilot phase held from December 2021 to February 2022, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with ministries in charge of agriculture and youth wish to experiment a second phase of deployment of national volunteers in the Centre-North region.

This phase planned to be conducted during six (6) months, from September 2022 to February 2023 aims to support agro-pastoral production by initiating concrete actions to profit of internal displaced persons and host communities.

Sixteen (16) national volunteers will be deployed to support agro-pastoral production by carrying out concrete actions for the benefit of internally displaced persons and host communities in 8 villages in the communes of Kaya, Boussouma and Korsimoro.

These volunteers will receive specific training, including an introduction to Japanese culture and language, training in citizenship and the spirit of volunteerism, and training in the promotion of SHEP (Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment Project) before their assignment.
