IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD

2010-2014

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

Encourage the participation of communities and local government in the management of the school through the establishment of School Management Committees (CGE) and Union of School Management Committees Functional (UCGE).

PROJECT SUMMARY

The first step of the project took place in the region of Louga. The objective was the improvement of the school management through the community participation. After three years of implementation, good outputs have been produced.
The satisfactory results recorded during the first step have allowed the implementation of the second step. Started since september 2010, the PAES 2 had specific objectives to stabilize and dissiminate a model of a functional CGE. This objective has been reached with the validation of a model proposed by the project at a national workshop organised in november 2012. This model will be generalized to all regions of Senegal in collaboration with the Project for the Improvement of Quality and Equity of Basic Education (PAQUEEB) financed by the World Bank.
The particularity of this model is essentially based on the democratic principles « secret ballot» for the establishment of CGE and the formulation of Action Plan Proactive (PAV) which will allow a better community participation in the school management.
