The Project for Increasing Rice Productivity through Adapting Quality Rice Seed and Climate Smart Agronomy

Country, Site The project proposes to introduce rice production to all the provinces across Zimbabwe that include Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands targeting selected smallholder irrigation schemes in various districts including research stations namely Matopos Research (Matabeleland South), Chisumbanje (Midlands), Makoholi (Masvingo), Kadoma (Mashonaland West), Henderson (Mashonaland East) etc.
Project Outline The object of the Project is to increase rice production and trading volumes by smallholder farmers through adoption of climate smart rice cultivation technologies to achieve food and nutrition security and farmer income.
