JICA President Shinichi Kitaoka held talks with Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) on Dec. 4 at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo.

Mr. Krähenbühl began the talks by thanking Mr. Kitaoka for JICA's cooperation toward Palestine refugees. The two men then discussed how to strengthen the relationship between UNRWA and JICA and exchanged their views on the state and perspective of Middle East peace.

JICA plans to continue the cooperation to promote peace building and the transition to an independent Palestinian economy and society.
