Webinar “Addressing Social Infrastructure Needs in Asia”

Outline

Social infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and public housing, plays a crucial role in developing and supporting human capital, promoting well-being, and fostering sustainable economic growth. Efficient development and maintenance of this infrastructure require a certain level of investment over a long period of time.

So, how much investment in social infrastructure is needed? Our recent report “ Addressing Social Infrastructure Needs in Asia: Towards a Pandemic Resilient Society ” is the first attempt to answer this question. After identifying characteristics of social infrastructure that differ from those of economic infrastructure, our research group estimated future need for social infrastructure in the Asian region up to 2030 and examined the gap between these needs and current levels of expenditure. In this webinar, we will discuss the report's findings and future perspectives on addressing the observed infrastructure investment gap.
