As a result of collaboration by JICA Iran office Japanese Guide Book of National Museum of Iran published

National Museum of Iran and JICA Iran office jointly published the Japanese guidebook of the museum in an unveiling ceremony that was held in the lecture hall of the museum on Monday December 9, 2019.

Mr. Nokandeh, General Director of National Museum of Iran, announced the news in the official ceremony of unveiling the Japanese guidebook. He appreciated the support of JICA and government of Japan for publishing such a valuable work. He expressed his hope that the book will introduce Iranian ancient culture to the Japanese people. He also appreciated professor Yamauchi's efforts for selecting the items and supervising the translation jobs.

Mr. Yukiharu Kobayashi, Chief Representative of JICA Iran Office, expressed his pleasure for attending such an event and appreciated the coordination and arrangement done by National Museum of Iran for presenting the valuable guidebook. As he stated, Japan and Iran have had a long history of exchanging traditions, cultural subjects and commercial goods. Despite geographical barriers, two nations have been exchanging ideas, technologies and professional experts in the past centuries. There are plenty of researches and theories to support such a background.

He also touched upon the subject of a 7th-century wooden writing tablet (called a Mokkan), found in Nara in the 1960s, which mentions a local resident who came from the Persian Empire.

"Relying on such an enriched history with willingness of two cultures to get familiar with each other, two nations and governments are continuing their efforts to enhance the mutual capacities of friendship and collaboration", he continued.

He highlighted on the importance of mutual relations, said: JICA Iran office is trying to act as a linking entity between two governments to keep all those historic ties alive in modern-days. Publishing The Japanese Guide Book of National Museum of Iran would be a constructive step to introduce the historic treasures of such a great museum to the Japanese academic and tourism business circles. It would be our pleasure if the published books would contribute to achieve a better understanding of Japanese people of the Iranian ancient history, resulting in enhancing Iranian tourism sector and to expand bilateral friendly relations further.
