JICA COVID-19 Webinar Series starting January 2021 brings together various leading health professionals from Japan to share Japan’s knowledge and experience on COVID-19 response and discuss the implications of their work. The webinar is intended primarily for health professionals in low- and middle-income countries.

In this event, we focus on the innovative trial design to rapidly and efficiently evaluate multiple interventions to optimize the best therapeutics for COVID-19: REMAP-CAP (Randomized, Embedded, Multifactorial, Adaptive Platform trial for Community-Acquired Pneumonia). We will invite three guest speakers from Japan, Nepal and Pakistan, who are involved in REMAP-CAP trial in their country, to discuss common features of APTs (Adaptive Platform Trials) and share the experience of REMAP-CAP launching and expanding in the country.

Speakers

Dr Hiroki Saito, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor at Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, St. Marianna University School of Medicine, Japan. He is a member of International Trial Steering Committee of REMAP-CAP.

Dr Diptesh Aryal, MD, is the National Coordinator for Nepal Intensive Care Research Foundation and Nepal ICU Registry. He is a Principal Investigator for REMAP-CAP trial in Nepal.

Dr Madiha Hashmi, MD, is a Professor and Chairperson at Department of Critical Care Medicine, Ziauddin University, Karachi, Pakistan. She is leading Pakistan Registry of Intensive CarE (PRICE).
