The objective of the project is to improve image diagnostic technology in the Central America and the Caribbean region with the results of the Medical Education and Training Project implemented in the Dominican Republic and to apply the technology to medical clinics.
With cooperation from Oita University Faculty of Medicine, training on image diagnostics including X-rays, CTs and ultrasound diagnostics is provided to medical professionals in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. This training will strengthen the managerial and administrative capacity at CEMADOJA.
For the training, a physician and radiological technician were dispatched from each country. The active exchange of opinions indicated the high level of interest among the participants. Some of the former participants are assisting with the incorporation of the training into the medical education system in their home countries.
