JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program (Group & Region Focus) is a part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Government of Japan based on bilateral agreement between both Governments.
The idea of the program is based on a mutual learning, which is stated in the Development Cooperation Charter (2023), it aims to share Japanese strengths to targeting countries and to enhance co-learning among participating countries including Japan for further development. The program offers a wide range of sectors, making it a distinctive feature of Japan's ODA.
Process for Implementation of KCCP (Group & Region Focus)
The following is the general flow of the program.
Recruitment and Selection |
JICA send General Information (GI) of each programs to the targeting countries. The government of the countries select candidates who meet the requirements. The candidates submit their applications to JICA. Then, JICA domestic offices precedes the applications and finalizes the participants for the program. |

Implementation of Program |
Program content is arranged on a course-by-course basis. It generally consists of lectures, practical activities, observation tours, discussions and workshops, and is conducted by JICA (HQs and domestic offices) in cooperation with implementing partners. Although the training is mainly conducted in Japan, some courses may include a session in their own country before or after their arrival in Japan or may be conducted only remotely. An evaluation meeting is held at the end of the program to confirm the effectiveness of the course and to discuss ideas and opinions for improving the program for the future. |
After the Program | Support will be provided according to the needs and situation, for example by supporting alumni associations led by returning participants. |
