中学生による英語狂言＆クリスマスコンサートに参加しました・・・

　　　　　
On Tuesday, December 27, ten participants have invited an English kyogen and Christmas concert by Tokyo Gakugeidai University’s Koganei Junior High School.

Kyogen is one of Japanese traditional theater art. It is called “a human comedy, " that reflects the essence of human behavior and nature, based on the daily lives of ordinary people from the Middle Ages.
Every year, the students play English Kyogen for JICA participants. Their English Kyogen got the third place in English Drama Division of the Tokyo Metropolitan English Arts and Sciences Competition the day before this event. Congratulation! we were proud to see junior high school students expressing themselves in fluent English without hesitation.
After that, the music club members performed J-pop music at the Christmas concert.
The participants were enjoying while clap their hands and rhythm to the J-Pop melodies.

Thank you to all the students who cooperated with us despite the winter break.
Last, but not least, We would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Aoyagi, Mr. Moriuchi and students that creating for this valuable opportunity for the JICA participants to learn about both traditional and modern Japanese culture, and to interact with the students.
　　　

12月27日（火）、東京学芸大学附属小金井中学校のご招待をいただき、JICA研修員10名が参加しました。
英語狂言は日本の舞台芸術のひとつで、対話を中心としたセリフ劇です。中世の庶民の日常を題材に、本質を反映させた「人間賛歌」のコメディーです。

毎年、生徒さんによる英語狂言をJICA研修員に披露していただいています。こちらの学校の英語狂言は、前日行われた東京都英語学芸大会の英語劇の部で、3位に入賞されました。中学生の皆さんの流暢な英語による表現力は大変すばらしかったです。
今年は軽音楽部の皆さんによるクリスマスコンサートも開催してくださいました。研修員たちは、演奏されるJ-POPに合わせてリズムをとったり、手をたたいたりとそれぞれ楽しんでいました。

最後になりましたが、冬休み中にかかわらず、ご協力いただきました青柳先生、盛内先生と生徒のみなさん、研修員たちが日本の新旧の文化を学び、日本の学生と交流できる貴重な機会をつくっていただきましたことを感謝申し上げます。
