東京学芸大学附属小金井中学校をJICA研修員が訪問しました！ JICA participants visited Koganei Junior High School affiliated with Tokyo Gakugei University!

東京学芸大学附属小金井中学校より英語授業と英語狂言、軽音部のクリスマスコンサートに研修員をご招待いただきました。

１２月１５日、日本の大学院で学ぶJICA研修員６名は、学芸大学附属小金井中学校を訪問しました。
小金井中学校では、英語の授業の一環として、英語で「日本文化紹介」を行っており、JICA研修員をゲストとしてご招待いただきました。
授業では、おじぎ、初詣、日本の四季、マンガやアニメ、もんじゃ焼き、寿司、和菓子、くじ、温泉、日本の苗字ランキング等、様々なテーマについて18グループがプレゼンテーションを行ってくれました。
生徒のリサーチ力や表現力に感心したり、「夏祭り」のテーマではクイズ形式で知った日本の祭りの多さに驚いたり、「授業後の掃除の時間」や「節分」の紹介では、皆で教室を掃除して動きまわる早送り動画や演技に大笑い＆感動する研修員。
プレゼンテーションの後は、研修員からの質問に生徒が答えてくれました。
「家でも掃除をする？」と聞くとNo、「掃除は好き？」と聞くとNo、と言う生徒の正直な答えに笑いがこぼれます。
授業の最後には、生徒から折り紙のサンタ、鬼滅の刃アイテムや黄金の立方体等の手作りのプレゼントをいただきました。細部まで良く出来た日本刀にもびっくりでした！生徒の皆さん、素敵なプレゼントをありがとうございました。

さらに１２月２７日、英語狂言と軽音楽部のコンサートにご招待いただき、研修員８名が参加させていただきました。
狂言はセリフが中心の伝統芸能で、中世の日常を題材に人間の普遍的なおかしさを描きだす喜劇です。
小金井中学校の「英語狂言」の授業には東京都中学校英語学芸大会のplayの部で毎年入賞しているグループがあります。
今回の演目は「附子（ぶす）」。附子とは猛毒のトリカブトのことで、家を留守にする主人が家来に砂糖蜜を「附子（毒）」と呼んで、絶対に見ても触ってもいけない、と言い残したのにも関わらず、家来が興味本位で蓋を開けて食べてしまった・・・というストーリー。演者の皆さんの英語は非常に流暢で、堂々と、のびのびと演技する様子は見ていてとても晴れやかな気持ちになりました。
研修員は初めて見る狂言のストーリーの展開に目を丸くして、とても楽しんでいた様子でした。
そして軽音楽部のクリスマスコンサートでは、皆さんの渾身の演奏に音楽好きな研修員が目を輝かせてリズムをとっていました。
年の瀬の多忙な中、日本の教育現場を体験できる貴重な機会をくださった青柳先生、ローガン先生、１年生の生徒の皆さん、そして軽音楽部の生徒の皆さんと顧問の盛内先生、研修員を温かく迎えて下さり誠にありがとうございました！

Koganei Junior High School　invited JICA participants to an English class, an English Kyogen performance, and a Christmas concert by the popular music band club.

On December 15, six JICA participants studying at a Japanese graduate school visited Koganei Junior High School.
They introduce Japanese culture in English as part of their English class, and the JICA participants were invited as guests.
In the class, １８ groups gave presentations on various topics such as bowing, Hatsumode (New Year's visit to a shrine), Japan's four seasons, Manga and Anime, Monjayaki, Sushi, Traditional Japanese sweets, Amida-Lottery, Hot springs, Ranking of Japanese surnames, and so on.
The participants were impressed by the students' research and expression skills, surprised at the number of Japanese festivals they learned about in a quiz format for the "Summer Festival" theme, and laughed out loud & were impressed by the fast-forward video or acting of everyone cleaning and moving around the classroom for the "After-school cleaning" and “Setsubun” introduction.
After the presentation, students answered questions from the participants.
“Do you clean at home?”― “No" , "Do you like to clean?”―”No." The students' honest answers brought laughter.
At the end of the class, the students gave us handmade gifts of Origami Santas, Demon Slayer items, and golden cubes, and so on. We were amazed at the detailed and well-made Japanese swords,too! Thank you students for the wonderful gifts.

Furthermore, on December 27, eight participants were invited to an English Kyogen performance, and a Christmas concert by the popular music band club.
Kyogen is a traditional performing art in which the dialogue takes the center, and it is a comedy that depicts the universal humor of human beings based on everyday life in the Middle Ages.
In Koganei Junior High School's English Kyogen class, there was a group that won a prize in the English drama division of the Tokyo Metropolitan English Competition for Junior High School Students every year.
This year's performance was "Busu“. The word "Busu" refers to aconite which is extremely poisonous. The story is about an absent master who tells his servants never look at or touch “Busu (Actually it's honey)”, but when servants, out of curiosity, open the lid and eats it....
The performers were very fluent in English, and it was refreshing to see them perform with such a sense of dignity and spontaneity.
The participants seemed to enjoy the performance very much, rolling their eyes at the unfolding of the story of Kyogen, which they were seeing for the first time.
And at the Christmas concert by the popular music band club, participants' who love music eyes lit up with moving to the beat as they listened to performance with their best.
