喜多羅理絵​（早稲田大学 政治経済学部 国際政治経済学科 ２年）

SATREPS（持続可能な発展のための科学技術研究パートナーシップ）の制度のもと、インドネシア共和国から来日し、早稲田大学創造理工研究科での博士課程を終えた長期研修員AGUSTININGTYAS Rudi Setiadjさん（以下、ルディさん）にインタビューを行いました！インドネシア公共事業・国民住宅省でエンジニアとして働き、母国の低層公共賃貸集合住宅（ルスナワ）の低炭素化について研究に取り組むルディさんの熱い気持ちを語っていただきました！

インドネシアはパリ協定による2030年目標値の達成を踏まえ、低炭素アフォーダブル集合住宅の開発・導入を進めています。私の研究テーマは低層公共賃貸集合住宅（ルスナワ）のライフサイクルエネルギーとカーボンフットプリントの最適化です。広島大学などと協力し、ルスナワの低炭素化のための必要性能、設計手法・建築技術、評価手法の研究開発及び基準化に向けた取り組みを行いました。

来日当初、空港を出た時の道路や環境のきれいさにびっくりしました！

その後、教授の勧めにより東京国際交流館（TIEC）に滞在することが決まり、そこでは都会的な生活を送ることができました。また、寮で他の留学生とも交流ができ、TIECのコートでバドミントンをするグループにも入りました！
来日後、茶道体験、高尾山登山、東京都の下水道施設視察など、JICAが実施する地域理解プログラムや様々な文化活動イベントに参加し、貴重な体験を楽しむことができました！

帰国後は、もともと所属していたインドネシアの公共事業・国民住宅省に復職します。日本の大学で自身が得た知識と経験を活かし、自国の発展に貢献していきたいと考えています。具体的に、今後急増するルスナワに対して、研究成果の低炭素建築技術を国家規格に反映させることを目標にします。

また、これから日本で学ぶ長期研修員への私のアドバイスは、以下のとおりです
- 早稲田大学を是非選んでください！キャンパスは東京の中心、新宿区にあります。
- 早稲田大学の高口研究室も選んでください！私の指導教官は非常に親切で、優しく、協力的でした。
- 日本語を勉強し、できるだけ多くの場所を訪れてください！
- 終電を逃さないように！
- 英語日本語の不得意を考えず、自分から積極的に話しかけましょう！
- Google Mapや翻訳アプリなど、テクノロジーを最大限に活用しましょう。

JICAの貢献と大きなサポートに感謝しています！JICAが全てオーガナイズして、協力的だったので、改善すべき点を見つけるのは難しいです（二つあるとすれば、インフレが続く中、家族を持つ大学院生には予算面で厳しいこと、そして、プログラムの最後に健康診断を行うべきであるということです）。

ルディさんがSATREPS研究を熱心に説明する姿勢に、私も研究内容とGreen Buildingに興味がわきました。両国の協力で成り立つユニークなプログラムに在籍するルディさんの体験とその研究成果を社会実装したいという強い意欲を聞けました！


I interviewed Mr. Rudi Setiadji Agustiningtyas, who recently obtained his doctoral degree at Waseda University under the SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development)　program. He is from the Republic of Indonesia.

Indonesia is developing and introducing low-carbon affordable housing complexes in light of the 2030 target under the Paris Agreement. My research focuses on optimizing the life-cycle energy and carbon footprint of low-rise public rental apartments (Rusunawa). In cooperation with Hiroshima University and other organizations, I optimized the base model of Rusunawa using analysis of embodied energy and carbon of existing Rusunawa, and evaluation of life-cycle energy and life-cycle CO2 for future model.

When I first arrived in Japan, I was surprised at how clean the streets and environment were when I left the airport!
At the recommendation of my professor, I stayed at the Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC), where I was able to experience urban life in Tokyo. I was also able to interact with other international students in the dormitory and joined a group to play badminton together on the courts at TIEC! After coming to Japan, I was able to enjoy valuable experiences by participating in JICA regional understanding programs and various cultural activity events, such as a tea ceremony experience, climbing Mt. Takao, and visiting Tokyo Metropolitan Government sewerage facilities!

In Indonesia, I will return to my job at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. I will utilize the research findings and experiences I have gained from the Japanese University to contribute to the development of my country. Specifically, for Rusunawa, which will rapidly increase in the future, the goal is to reflect the research results' low-carbon building technologies into national design guideline.

Here is my advice:
- Choose Waseda University! It's in the heart of Tokyo, in Shinjuku District.
- Choose Takaguchi Laboratory too! My supervisor was extremely helpful, kind, and supportive.
- Study Japanese and visit as many places as possible, as it is an opportunity to experience and learn Japanese culture!
- Don’t stay out late if you don’t want to miss the last train!
- Take initiatives and start conversations with others!
- Maximize technology to your best ability such as Google Map and translation apps.

I am thankful to JICA for their contribution and great support! It's hard to find anything to improve on since everything was organized and cooperative by JICA (if there are two things, it's that the budget is tight for graduate students with families amid inflation in Tokyo, and mental and physical checkups should be conducted at the end of the program).

Mr. Rudi's passionate explanation of the SATREPS research fascinated me towards both his research and Green Building. I enjoyed listening about Mr. Rudi's experience in this unique program, which is based on cooperation between the two countries, and his strong desire to implement the results of his research in society!
