白熱の決勝戦!! 目が離せないWEリーグ観戦！

JICA東京センターでは、研修員の福利厚生プログラムの一環としてJICAと連携協定を締結しているWEリーグが主催するWEリーグカップ決勝戦の観戦を実施しました。当日は、インド、モンゴル、ケニアなどの１3名の研修員が参加しました。

16：00のキックオフを前に続々と研修員が集まりました。多くの出店があったのでそこで食事を楽しむ姿も見られ、また、席は自由席となっていたので各々好きな席で観戦をしました。当日の来場人数は6,261人と多くの人が来場していました。試合が始まると前半は攻守の切り替わりが激しく目が離せませんでした。研修員も興奮し、「OH！」、「NICE！」など声を出して観戦していました。点が入りそうになると思わず立ち上がるなど夢中になり観戦していました。

前半が0-0で終わり「どっちのチームが勝ちそう？」と聞くと、「シュートの本数が多い広島が勝つ」、「攻めるスピードが速い新潟が勝つ」などいつの間にかどちらかのチームを応援し始めている研修員もいました。また、両チームのサポーターの応援も熱気があり、研修員も動画を撮ったりしていました。なかには応援歌を口ずさんでいる研修員もいました。
後半になっても得点は入らず緊張感のある試合展開にスタンドのボルテージも高まっていきました。それにつられるように研修員も「パス！」、「クロス」、「シュート！」、など戦術面へ声を出して応援していました。またファールがあると写真のように両手を広げてアピールする研修員もいました。試合は後半戦、延長戦でも決着がつかず、PK戦までもつれ込む展開になりました。

PK戦では1球蹴るごとに大きな歓声が沸き、研修員も大きな声を出し応援をしていました。最終的にはPK戦を4-2で制したサンフレッチェ広島レジーナが優勝しました。優勝が決定した瞬間はスタジアムが揺れるほどの歓声が上がりました。喜ぶ研修員もいれば肩を落としている研修員もいました。その姿はまるでサポーターのようでスポーツの持つ影響力に驚きました。その後の表彰式で優勝賞金の1,000万円という額に驚いている研修員もいました。
研修員からは「素晴らしいゲームだった」、「試合を見て力をもらった」、「もっとこういうイベントを増やしてほしい」など多くの意見がありました。国境を越えてみんなで盛り上がるというスポーツの持つ力というものを体感することができました。今回の観戦を日本での思い出の１つとして覚えていてほしいです。また、これを機に日本の他のスポーツにも興味を持って欲しいと思いました。試合後には全員集まれませんでしたが、集合写真を撮り、スポーツを通して人の輪が広がったと実感しました。

JICA Tokyo Center held watching the WE League Cup Final organized by the WE League, which has a partnership agreement with JICA, as part of the participants' welfare program. 13　participants from India, Mongolia, Kenya, and other countries participated in the event.

The participants gathered one after another before the kick-off at 16:00. There were many stalls where they could enjoy their meals, and since the seats were unreserved, they could watch the game in their favorite seats. A total of 6,261 people attended the event. Once the game started, the first half of the match was so intense with switching between offense and defense, it was difficult to take our eyes off the game. The participants were so excited that they shouted "OH!” “Nice!” when a point was about to be scored, they stood up and watched the game absorbed in the game.

After the first half ended 0-0, I asked "Which team do you think will win?” then they said "Hiroshima will win because they have more shots" or "Niigata will win because they are faster on offense”.It seems some participants started cheering for one team or the other without noticing. The supporters of both teams were also enthusiastic, and some participants even took videos of them or sang along to the cheering song.
Even in the second half, no goals were scored, and the tension of the game was building up, they were cheering for the tactical aspect of the game saying "Pass!" “Cross!" and “Shoot!”. Whenever there was a foul, some participants open their arms as shown in the photo. In the second half of the match, the game could not be decided even in overtime and ended up in a penalty shootout.

During the penalty kick shootout, there were loud cheers after each kick, and the participants also cheered loudly. In the end, Sanfrecce Hiroshima Regina won the penalty shootout 4-2. At the moment the victory was decided, the stadium shook with cheers. Some of the participants were happy, while others had their shoulders drooped. They looked like supporters, and I was amazed at the influence of sports. At the awards ceremony that followed, some participants were surprised at the 10 million yen prize money awarded to the winner.
We received many comments from participants, such as "It was a great game" "I was empowered by watching the game" and "I hope there will be more events like this”. I was able to experience the power of sports to bring people together across borders. I hope that they will remember watching the games this time as one of their fondest memories of Japan. I also hoped that this would be an opportunity for them to become interested in other sports in Japan. Although we could not all get together after the game, we took a group photo and felt that our circle of human had expanded through sports.
