JICA研究所の上條哲也参事役の論文「A Verification of Alternative Assessment using Principal Component Analysis based on Case Studies of the Japan International Cooperation Agency」が、Journal of Environmental Information Science (Vol. 43, No.5　2015年)に掲載されました。

これまでの研究では、主成分分析が、環境影響評価（環境アセスメント）において、(1)最適な選択肢を選定する明確な根拠の提示、(2)低い恣意性、(3)分析結果の検証、および(4)手法の容易さという4点から、一般的な手法に代わる評価手法として効果的であることが示唆されてきました。

本論文は、JICAの15の事例を用いて、主成分分析の評価手法としての妥当性を検証することを目的としたものです。
