開発途上国が持続可能な開発をこれまでしてきたか、これから実現するにはどうすればよいかという問いは、開発協力機関にとって最も重要な問いの一つです。本研究では、開発途上国が持続可能な開発を実現するためにどのような方策を講じればよいか、開発協力機関としてJICAがどのような協力アプローチを取ればよいかを検討することを研究の目的としています。
具体的には、（1）持続可能性の評価指標である「Inclusive Wealth Index」を用いた開発途上国（特にアジア地域）の持続可能性の分析、（2）持続可能な開発の要と考えられる持続可能なインフラ開発の成功要因と開発援助戦略の検討を行います。
